If we ran into each other after a year apart, here's what I'd tell you.
Work
Linslow is my consulting practice: I help creative businesses. More at linslow.com →
School
I went back to school this spring: symbolic logic and calculus at Santa Monica College. I haven't been a regular student in a long time. Showing up to a place, doing the homework, sitting for exams: that has changed something. More math this fall. The longer aim is testing whether the ground exists for more advanced mathematics or economics work.
Groups
I enjoy some ongoing groups. I often get to hear myself say things I didn't know I was thinking.
- Tuesday Men's Club. Over a year in. 35 sessions, biweekly at the Wende Museum, Culver City.
- Short Story Discussion Group. Four friends, 40+ sessions since 2022. Archive at ssdg.me.
- PDFN (Product Demo for Normals). A small, recurring show-and-tell of things people have shipped with LLMs. Started in June, now settling into a twice-a-month rhythm.
Family
Amy runs a creative business teaching crafting, scrapbooking, and lettering. Jack is 12 and into track and gaming. June is 5 and into everything.
Writing
Morning pages, almost every day for years. Each January, an annual review; the 2025 Annual Review is up. The experiment reports I started publishing this year are back in the shop for a rework: they return with the receipts. More writing →
Write Me If
- You're inside some version of this page. If some part of it is your life right now: running the thing, automating the thing, struggling with the thing: write me. Comparing notes with people mid-struggle is half of why I write any of this down.
- You own or run a media or creative thing that's stuck. A business, a catalog, a show, a company: something that needs an operator's depth or an investor's eye. That's Linslow. Tell me what it is and where it's stuck.
- Right now (updated monthly): I'm looking for the next PDFN demo: someone who shipped something real with an LLM and wants a friendly room for fifteen minutes.
The best way to reach me is email: jc@jccangilla.com. I read everything. I respond to most things. Sometimes it takes a few days.
