I spend a lot of time in groups. Here's a few of them.

Groups I Run

Tuesday Men's Club

A men's group I started in 2024 for guys in Los Angeles. We meditate together, talk about what's actually going on, and eat ice cream. 25 sessions. Biweekly at Wende Museum starting March 2026.

Open to new members

David Whyte Study Group

A reading partnership working through David Whyte's Consolations. We meet every other week to discuss an essay. Not what it "means" but what it stirs up. Most recently: "Besieged." Next: "The Cost of Love."

Groups I'm In

Short Story Discussion Group

Four friends reading two short stories each month since 2022. We trade off picking stories and hosting.

Closed group

Journeymen

A network of men's groups across the country. I help with infrastructure and support new groups getting started.

Past Experiments

JC BOD (Personal Board of Directors)

Monthly calls with a handful of trusted friends to share what's actually going on. Started as accountability, evolved into something closer to deep sharing and vulnerability. Paused now that I have TMC in person, but the format worked well for remote connection.

Why Groups

I've come to realize: showing up, preferably in person, helps.

Interested in starting a group? Get in touch. I'm happy to share what I've learned.
